PM Kisan Samman Nidhi 21st Installment Update:
The Central Government has officially disbursed the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, offering a much-needed financial boost to farmers of Jammu and Kashmir. More than 8.5 lakh beneficiaries in the Union Territory have received ₹170 crore, with ₹2,000 credited directly to each eligible farmer’s bank account.
This marks the continuation of the government’s commitment to supporting farmers affected by heavy rains and floods across several parts of India. Following the earlier release of funds to Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir has now become the fourth region to receive the 21st installment.
Relief for Flood-Hit FarmersUnion Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan officially transferred the payment to farmers in Jammu and Kashmir on October 7, 2025. He highlighted that this advance payment is aimed at assisting farmers who have suffered due to recent natural calamities.
“Farmers in the border regions have been facing severe challenges due to floods and heavy rainfall. The government stands firmly with them during these difficult times,” the minister said, reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to ensuring that no farmer is left behind in times of distress.
Four States Receive 21st PM Kisan InstallmentWith this new disbursement, four states have now benefited from the 21st installment. Earlier, on September 26, Chouhan had transferred ₹540 crore to 27 lakh farmers in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand through video conferencing. The latest release of ₹170 crore for Jammu and Kashmir brings the total to ₹710 crore, reaching 35.5 lakh farmers so far.
Under this scheme, each eligible farmer receives ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. The funds are sent directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts to ensure transparency and prevent any middlemen interference.
Previous Installment Covered Over 9.7 Crore FarmersEarlier this year, in August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment of the PM Kisan scheme from Varanasi, transferring ₹20,500 crore to the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across the nation. The government aims to reach approximately 10 crore farmers under the ongoing 21st installment phase before Diwali 2025.
