The announcement was made on Wednesday, with the recommendation now set to go before the full Commonwealth Sport membership.

The final decision will be taken at the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on 26 November 2025.

If approved, Ahmedabad will join the list of cities that have hosted this prestigious multi-sport event, bringing the Commonwealth Games to India for the first time since the inaugural 2010 edition in Delhi.
