Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said the fighters of democracy above 70 years will be provided with free treatment through the Ayushman card.
If they need any further help, they will get PM Air Ambulance service, Yadav said.
Yadav made the statement at a conference on democracy at the CM’s residence on Thursday. He also spoke about those who fought for democracy.
Democracy is an integral part of the Indian civilisation and culture, he said. It is, however, not just a system of governance but the soul and identity of India’s lifestyle, he said.
Democracy has been ingrained in the Indian psyche since ancient times, and its roots run deep in our traditions, Yadav said.

If eligible, the family members of democracy fighters will be given priority and benefits in all government schemes, he said.
Besides Yadav, Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and other dignitaries unveiled the ‘MISA Patrika’ and an ‘Emergency Diary’ based on the letters, thoughts, and memoirs written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Emergency.
Gehlot has said India is the world’s largest democratic country, and to strengthen it, democracy fighters have made significant sacrifices.
During the Emergency, 46 ordinances were issued. Constitutional freedoms were taken away, and people’s voices were silenced, he said.
Currently, in more than 12 states, democracy fighters are honoured ceremoniously, but the Madhya Pradesh government has provided the most facilities to democracy fighters.
