Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In an unexpected incident, the parcel office at Bhopal Railway Station was waterlogged on Thursday night after a heavy downpour, with around 2.5 feet of water filling the area.
This has badly affected parcel booking and delivery services.
According to information, all 3 main booking counters were shut, leaving over 400 people unable to book or collect their parcels.
The situation got serious, when water entered the store room, booking counters, and delivery shed. As a result, not only has new parcel booking come to a halt, but over 300 parcels have not been loaded onto trains yet.
Railway officials say the waterlogging began on Thursday night and has not yet been cleared. However, teams are working to fix the issue and restore normal operations soon.

Due to the flooding, the parcel department has set up a temporary booking counter in a nearby office, where limited services are being offered. A separate delivery counter has also been created in a new shed, but due to limited resources, these arrangements are falling short of meeting public demand.
Officials said the waterlogging was caused by a clogged drain near the parcel office, which prevented rainwater from draining properly. As a result, the entire office has been flooded.
