Rahul Gandhi claims- 'Arun Jaitley threatened me on agricultural law'!

Rohan Jaitley, son of former Union minister Arun Jaitley, on Saturday hit out at Rahul Gandhi over his remarks that the late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader had threatened him over the farm laws.

 Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi claimed in the Annual Legal Conclave- 2025 that former Union Minister and late BJP leader Arun Jaitley had threatened him over the agricultural law. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said " I remember when I was fighting against the agricultural laws, Arun Jaitley was sent to threaten me.

 

Rahul Gandhi said that Arun Jaitley ji had told me, "If you continue to oppose the government, keep fighting against the agricultural laws, then we will have to take action against you. I looked at him and said that I don't think you know who you are talking to"...". Rahul Gandhi said that he did not bow down to the threats of BJP and kept fighting for the rights of the farmers.

 

 

 

BJP hits back at Rahul Gandhi

BJP has reacted strongly to Rahul Gandhi's statement. Former Union Minister and BJP MP Anurag Thakur said that Rahul Gandhi comes up with a new lie and a new propaganda every day. I want to remind Rahul Gandhi that Arun Jaitley died on 24 August 2019 and the agricultural laws were passed in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on 17 September 2020 and 20 September 2020 respectively. By the time the bill came, Arun Jaitley had passed away.

 

Anurag Thakur said that Rahul Gandhi should apologize to Arun Jaitley's family, BJP and the entire country. He said that Rahul Gandhi should explain how he met Jaitley ji when he was not in this world and when did he threaten him.

Arun Jaitley's son Rohan Jaitley also replied to Rahul Gandhi

At the same time, Rohan Jaitley, son of late Arun Jaitley, also targeted Rahul Gandhi fiercely. He advised the Congress MP to be careful while talking about the deceased. In a post on the X handle, Rohan also reminded Rahul that his father died in 2019, while the controversial agricultural laws were introduced in Parliament in 2020.

Rohan Jaitley said that it was not his father's nature to intimidate anyone with opposing views. In his post, Rohan said that Arun Jaitley was a staunch democrat and always believed in building consensus.
