With Pen y Fan standing as the tallest peak in South Wales, it comes as no shock that countless people tackle the challenge of scaling it. The mountain, situated in theBrecon Beacons, is conquered by thousands of adventurers annually, and one man recently chose to attempt the major trek.
Matt, going by freshestcereal90 on TikTok, posted a video of his hiking expedition online, and it's got people in hysterics. Whilst the views are "amazing", he revealed there's one aspect about undertaking the walk that nobody warned him about, and the ordeal left him somewhat gobsmacked as he wasn't ready for what lay ahead.
In the footage, Matt declared: "Climbing Pen y Fan. I'm f****d." As he pressed on walking, he continued: "Now, I'm proper f****d. I'm high though. I'm about 300 metres up, and it's like 800 metres up in total, or 890, so I'm only a third of the way.

"I'm f*****g burning. I don't know why people choose to do this for fun. It's f****d up. Anyway, I'll update you in a minute when I get a bit higher."
The video contains offensive language. But if you want to watch it, you can do so on TikTok.

Matt then swivels the camera round to reveal that some people are jogging up the mountain, and it leaves him flabbergasted. Despite acknowledging the landscape is "beautiful", he couldn't fathom how brutal it is to climb.
Perhaps the sweltering weather made it more challenging, but he appeared to struggle somewhat. He remarked it's quite a demanding trek, despite the spectacular scenery being incredible to behold.
The footage has been watched dozens of times since being posted, with viewers rushing to share their thoughts.
One person responded, confessing: "It killed me when I did it. One man had ran up and down about 10 times. Told me it would get easier."
Another chimed in with: "I was there yesterday - dying on the side every 20 steps." A third replied: "It's a killer."
However, some people offered contrasting perspectives, with one adding: "Should only take 45 minutes to the top bud." Meanwhile, a fifth commented: "Haha, enjoy!"
For those unfamiliar with Pen y Fan, it's actually the tallest peak in South Wales. Situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park, at 886 metres (2,907 ft) above sea-level, it's also the loftiest British summit south of Cadair Idris in Snowdonia.
The National Trust owns both the mountain and its surrounding landscape, working to combat erosion from the peak's popularity amongst hikers.
The military also utilises the mountain during the selection procedure for the UK's Special Forces personnel.
Visit Wales states: "Pen y Fan is one of the most popular walks in Wales. When the weather is fine, the views are truly splendid.
"Mile upon mile of rolling hills disappear into the distance, fringed by eons-old sheer cliffs. Just like Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), its popularity can detract from the experience, as trails get very busy at peak times.
"If you're visiting in mid-summer you might want to try the nearby Black Mountains or the Cambrian Mountains - particularly if you like to walk without lots of other people around. To get to Pen y Fan you can walk along the Beacons Way or the Taff Trail. If you prefer to cycle, you can take National Cycle Network Route 8 or the Taff Trail."
