Ted Lasso star Brendan Hunt has tied the knot with his longtime love, Drop Dead Gorgeous actress Shannon Nelson - with the nuptials being presided over by none other than his co-star and real-life best pal Jason Sudeikis.
The 53-year-old, who plays Coach Beard in the beloved football sitcom, shared snaps from his big day on Instagram and revealed the surprise news it took place in Ireland two weeks ago on September 20.
In a low key announcement, he wrote: "Oh wait! I totally forgot to mention- me and @snoopshann got married in Ireland a couple weeks ago. NBD [No Big Deal].
"It was done with way less lead time than you're supposed to give, and way fewer guests than we would have liked to have under normal circumstances. And we're pretty sure the dude who married us was only pretending to be a priest.
"But we just about pulled it off. The bride was stunning, while the groom cleaned up reasonably well. It was all quite lovely, and best of all our little boys got to see it. Shout out to all the young-at-heart lovers out there. In the words of my aunt Ellen, 'It’s so much better to have a teammate'."
And fans were here for it, with one writing: "SEE - Ted would never have missed his bestie’s wedding!" Another posted: "Congratulations love the bride's dress and your suit is amazing, and of course Ted would never miss Willis’s wedding."
A third chimed in: "Congrats!!! And only coach Beard could pull off that suit!!! Your bride is stunning!!!" A fourth commented: "TED didn't miss the wedding!" While a fifth added: "Congratulation Mr. And Mrs. Beard!!!"
The comments were a sweet nod to Ted being absent from Coach Beard's wedding to Jane at the end of season 3 of the award-winning Apple TV show about an American football coach who is hired to manage a British soccer team.
Fans might not know that Coach Beard's now real-life wife Shannon has also appeared in the show, popping up in one episode in season 3 named 'La Locker Room Aux Folles' as character Ms. Ledbetter.
As well as best pal Jason - aka Ted - having a huge role in the wedding, so did Brendan and Shannon's young sons, Sean Theodore, four, and 20-month-old Archibald Felix.
The charming wedding invitation, presented by their two sons, adorably read: "Sean Theodore and Archibald Felix request the honor of your presence at the wedding celebration of their parents, Shannon Nicole Nelson and Brendan Edward Hunt. Saturday, the Twentieth of September, Two-Thousand and Twenty-Five.
"Join us in mirth and revelry at Boyne Hill House, Kilcarn Heights, County Meath, Ireland. Cocktail attire. Bright colors and bold patterns encouraged.”
Revealing more details about their special day, Sharon wrote in a separate social media post: "A wedding. A perfectly Irish day set the stage for what was the best day of my life. Look at my husband!"
She went on to say: "Our children walked me down the aisle and watched as their Dad and I said our vows and tied our family together in the most quiet, musical, silly and lovely way and then we danced until my shoe leather wore off.
"Here are a few pics and please pardon what will likely be a fair amount of future posts as they keep coming in from the weekend. Thank you @clairepettibone for fulfilling all of my Secret Garden dreams."
Shannon added: "To @boynehillhouse [the wedding venue] for being absolutely perfect in every way and to Sandra @infusionweddings for making it happen at all (especially on such short notice)."
