Travis Kelce's subtle nod to Taylor Swift's Life Of A Showgirl shows his true feelings

Send Push

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship has been somewhat a private affair since they first got together two years ago. And while he has been seen enjoying himself at her latest Eras concerts, the NFL player has remained tight-lipped when it comes to her songs – until now that is.

On the back of the release of his fiancé's 12th studio album, Travis has broken his silence and made his feelings known on social media.

One song in particular that seemed to have caught his eye was the track Ruin the Friendship, where she also name drops 50 Cent in the lyrics of the song.

And in true 50 Cent style he could not wait to respond. Taking to social media he wrote: "@taylorswift s*** is popping right now, she shout me out, she don’t shout you out. LOL THIS IS FOR BIG TIMERS ONLY! @50centaction wait I’m the only shout out on the whole album."

And it was on the back of the rapper's clear excitement Travis liked his post. This is the first time the athlete has made a public reaction with regards to Taylor's music, showing his excitement is reflecting that of 50 Cent's.

Travis appears to be the main inspiration for her latest album but this song in particular is more focused on her regret about not kissing a high school friend, who then died when the singer was only 20 – 15 years ago.

Taylor recently spoke about the track while promoting her album. She said: "It would’ve been fine to take chances I didn’t take [on love]. I was so disciplined in high school. It’s very wistful and very nostalgic."

But it looks as though Taylor was not prepared to make the same mistake again when it came to Travis.

Travis recalled his attempts at trying to catch Taylor's attention by handing her a bracelet with his number on it. Speaking on his podcast which he co-hosts with his brother, he admitted: "I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings."

He added: "So I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made her. I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on."

His brother then quizzed him on whether he meant his shirt number or his phone number. And in response Travis said: "You know which one. She doesn’t meet anyone or at least she didn’t want to meet me so I took it personal."

But things clearly worked out for the pair as it wasn't long after his disappointing moment they finally got together. Speaking about her now fiancé, Taylor recently said on Heart Breakfast radio show: "He’s the most fun person. He’s such a natural, like in life. He’s never been nervous about anything in his entire life, so it’s pretty fun."

She added: "He’s all the things; he’s fun, vibrant, has this infectious personality, makes me laugh so much. There’s a line in the song [‘Wi$h Li$t’] that you just wanted a best friend who you think is hot. Well, that’s kind of it, you know?"
