Leading a healthy lifestyle is essential to maintain good health, especially in today's sedentary work culture where prolonged sitting causes various health issues like headaches, shoulder pain, and back pain. To counter these problems, yoga guru Baba Ramdev advises dedicating a few minutes every morning to warm-up exercises.
He recommends starting with at least two rounds of yogic jogging to activate the body. Those who can perform Surya Namaskar should complete it; if not, alternative asanas include Tadasana, Tiryak Tadasana, Kati Chakrasana, Trikonasana, Konasana, and Padahastasana, along with light, gentle exercises tailored to one's ability.
Baba Ramdev emphasizes not compromising health despite illness and encourages courage to eliminate disease and weakness through regular, attentive practice of exercises, yoga, and pranayama. These warm-up asanas stretch and prepare the body for further yoga practice.
For those unable to perform strenuous activities, options like yogic jogging, Surya Namaskar, Danda-Bithak, and light exercises are recommended, with a routine including five to seven exercises and pranayama types based on individual capacity.
Yoga offers multiple benefits including improving physical and mental health, posture, concentration, sleep quality, and energy levels. Regular practice can help prevent many health issues and promote oxygen flow in the body. Beginners should start with simple warm-ups and gradually incorporate more complex asanas as per their comfort and ability.
