The Great British Sewing Bee producers introduced elements of adaptive fashion for this week's episode of the beloved BBC One programme. The theme was Children's Week, and sewers had to tackle a pattern for kids' dungarees as adaptive designer Victoria Jenkins joined the judges for the episode.

For the Transformative Challenge, the contestants had to repurpose maternity wear into outfits for toddlers. Mini-models for the Made to Measure Challenge were welcomed onto the show, and the sewers had to create outfits inspired by what their models wanted to be when they grew up. Their choices ranged from beekeeper and explorer to politician.

Orla made a striking beekeeping outfit, which was praised by judges who adored the embroidered bumblebee on the suit as well as the net to keep the insects away. Meanwhile, Kit's popstar outfit had a dressing down from the judges after his model's stars were peeling off his trousers. The other contestants received a mixed reaction to their final projects as they hoped to get through to the next stage of the competition.

The judges awarded Caz the garment of the week for her creation, and she was left in tears over the happy news. However, moments later, host Sarah Pasco revealed that Dan would be packing his bags and leaving the process.

Taking the blow well as the fellow contestants looked utterly shocked, he said: "It's alright, I knew."

BBC viewers were left raging over the result and flocked to X to comment on losing Dan. One person penned with crying emojis: "#SewingBee Awwww dammit. I love Dan." Another added: "Oh no, Dan! Wish he could have stayed."

A third wrote: "So close this week. Gutted for lovely Dan - but I would have been for any of them. #sewingbee."

Another noted: " #SewingBee so disappointed Dan has gone." Someone else who was upset over the result said: "What an absolutely smashing bloke. You will be missed Dan."

A sixth shared: "Sad to see Dan go, he was brilliant #SewingBee."

The Great British Sewing Bee continues next Tuesday at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
