Just months after celebrating his 83rd birthday, Sir Paul McCartney has shown no signs of slowing down and is rumoured to be making a fresh musical comeback. The Beatles legend will reportedly announce an upcoming tour and release a new album by the end of the year. According to a source close to the icon, Sir Paul is said to be "really proud" of the album and looking forward to performing in front of concertgoers across the UK.
They claimed: "Paul has been working on the album all year and initially hoped it would be out by the end of this year, but as with most things, plans change. "It's not quite finished, but the majority of the album is done and Paul is really proud of it. "As for live shows, he's told his team he wants to tour the UK again, so live gigs next year are also happening," they added to The Sun's Bizarre column.

This will be a quick return to the stage for the musician who turned 83 in June and is due to end his Got Back tour later this year. The shows, which kicked off in 2022, began with seven shows in Australia, followed by a Latin American leg twice. He also performed shows across Europe and a further two concerts in Mexico.
Sir Paul will embark on the North American leg of the tour on September 29 in Palm Desert, California which finishes on November 25 in Chicago. The three-year tour was preceded by the Freshen Up tour in 2018 and 2019 and a selection of Secret Gigs in 2018.
Despite his age, the Let It Be crooner has turned down the prospects of retiring during a 2025 interview and said: "I figure when I get really fed up, then that'll be the time to think about it.
"But I'm loving it. And we play beautiful places like this, and the audiences are fantastic, so warm. And I love playing with the band, so there's no point in retiring," he added.

Sir Paul's last album, McCartney III, came out in 2020, marking his 26th solo album. With his band Wings, the singer has released seven studio albums, and with The Beatles, he released 12 main studio albums, plus a selection of compilations.
Away from music, Sir Paul co-authored a book about his time in his band Wings, set to be released in November. The new book, Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, comes as Paul also promotes The Beatles Anthology, a nine-part documentary series featuring previously unreleased footage, also set to be released in November.
