Cleaning the home is a chore that needs to be done regularly with there being multiple rooms and areas to work on, including the kitchen.
This room typically contains a variety of major appliances, like a fridge, oven and cooker, as well as a sink, storage units, cooking equipment and countertops. A kitchen is prone to getting dirty as this is where food and drinks are prepared and stored.
A professional home cleaner called Charlotte gives advice and tips on TikTok and gives her followers and an insight into her job. In one of her videos on the platform she gave a step by step guide on everything she does when cleaning a particular client's kitchen.
She said: "So the same with every room that I clean, I always start off with high dusting." Charlotte showed how she begins by dusting high up on walls and ceilings with an extendable magnetic duster.
Next she moves onto the cupboard fronts with a microfiber cloth and she makes sure to apply any cleaning sprays to the cloth instead of directly on the cupboards, warning that products can stain and drip. She then cleans the dining table with the same cloth, as well as everything that was on the table, such as placemats.
The professional cleaner also wipes down the chairs. After this she moved onto cleaning the counter tops using the Jangro Premium Citrus Cleaner, scrubbing it all over the surfaces.
Charlotte sanitises all the switches as she makes her way around the kitchen, as well as any appliances. After this she cleans the backsplash of the cooker, followed by the gas hob.
The cleaning expert uses the Bar Keepers Power Clean to get rid of all the dirt on the base of the hob. She dries it with a clean cloth and ensures that the product is fully removed, noting that any product residue could cause damage as she explained that Bar Keepers Power Clean contains acid.
For the top pieces of the hob, including the burner tops and plates, Charlotte cleans these with a soap filled scourer sponge. She has found that this tool works well to remove stubborn brown marks found on hobs.
Following this, Charlotte cleans the pan supports with either washing up liquid or the citrus cleaner she used for the counter tops. The cleaning guru continued: "I then went ahead and cleaned the island all around the sink before I moved onto the sink."
The next area to be cleaned was the bin. Charlotte sprayed it down with a disinfectant, left it to work and then dried it all off.
She then disinfected all the door handles, light switches and sockets before dusting the skirting boards and door frames. This was followed by "general dusting", including any cabinets, mirrors and lamps.
Charlotte finishes by vacuuming and mopping the full floor. In the caption of her TikTok video she shared that this is a "regular weekly maintenance clean."
Several users took the comments section to share how impressed they were by Charlotte's cleaning routine. One said: "You're way more diligent than our cleaners. That's my level of clean."
Another added: "You are a magician!!! I would love to have you sort my house out!!"
