Piccadilly Circus LIVE: Car smashes into London landmark - statement issued on injuries

A car has smashed into an iconic landmark in central London, injuring two people. Roads have been closed off after the car crashed into steps close to a fountain on London's Piccadilly Circus roundabout in the early hours of this morning.

Two people have been rushed to hospital after the incident at 5.23am. Dramatic photos show the black overturned on its roof in Piccadilly Circus, one of London's busiest tourist spots.

All the roads leading to the junction have been closed off and the nearby station is partially closed.
