Even if Prince Harry reconciles with other Royal Family members, including King Charles, Prince William has no plans to contact his brother, claims a source. It comes after senior aides to both father and son held a secret 'peace summit' last week - said to be a "significant" step in reuniting the two.
Three representatives from either side were seen speaking at the Royal Over-Seas League, which sits overlooking Green Park in London, close to the King's residence, Clarence House. The royal source told the Mirror that William is still reeling over claims made by Prince Harry in various interviews and in his bombshell autobiography, Spare.
The source said: "The Prince of Wales remains deeply wounded by Prince Harry's various allegations in his memoir and endless broadcast interviews over the last few years."
The source added: "There are no plans to either make contact with or arrange to see the Duke of Sussex in the near future and regardless of any members of the family seeking reconciliation, that is certainly not on the prince's mind. Both the Prince and Princess of Wales are entirely focused on their various important duties and their own family."
Since stepping down as working royals in 2020, the Sussexes have made the most of their platform by engaging in several tell-all interviews in which they made several allegations against the Firm.
If reconciliation was on the cards between Harry and the Firm, one source warned it would only come if Harry stops conducting "endless rounds of broadcast interviews as his only way of communication".
A source previously told the Mirror: "Senior members of the family have in the past said to Harry that he must both stop his attacks on the family as well as giving endless rounds of broadcast interviews as his only way of communication. If there is a period of calm and reflection on the part of the Duke of Sussex, then there may be a way forward for him to begin along the road of repairing his relationship with his father."
After speaking to BBC America in May, Prince Harry revealed he "would love a reconciliation" with the King and William, as he admitted that he was tired of fighting, and he worried about Charles' health because he did "not know how much longer [his] father has."
The interview took place after the Duke of Sussex lost a legal challenge over the levels of security he and his family are entitled to while in the UK. Prince Harry had been seeking to overturn a decision that had downgraded his security after he stopped being a working royal and moved to the US with his family.
Speculation of reconciliation comes as Meredith Maines, the duke's chief communications officer, and Liam Maguire, who runs Harry and Meghan's UK public relations team, were pictured meeting with Tobyn Andreae, the King's communications secretary, on July 9.
