Princess Anne's travel habits as royal expert reveals surprising place he saw her

Princess Anne may be the King's sister, but behind closed doors she is not too dissimilar to the rest of us. The Princess Royal, who turns 75 this year, is often named the hardest working royal, carrying out a huge number of engagements each year.

While these royal appearances see her travel up and down the country, and even overseas at times, the Princess seems to be unfazed about how she travels. Although she is often known for taking a helicopter, one royal expert said she also has some normal travel habits, and even once bumped into her in one surprising place.

This was none other than on a standard train, with the princess reportedly being "quite" happy to travel in this way.

Speaking to GB News, former royal butler Grant Harrold said: "I've travelled with Princess Anne as well, actually, even coming up to do this programme on occasions.

"Sometimes she's even on the same train as myself, so she doesn't even use the royal train.

"She'll quite happily just use the normal train like everyone else."

Anne is not the only royal to do this, with Prince William and Princess Kate having also used normal methods of travel to attend some public engagements in the past.

As well as hopping on normal commuter trains from time to time, William, 43, and Kate, 43, are also no stranger to taking commercial flights, having been seen on a British Airways flight in 2022 to get to Boston, America.

However, they don't always get commercial flights and, like other royals, are known to travel via private royal helicopters and places when necessary.
