Leaked emails suggest that Sarah Ferguson was "the first to celebrate" the release of paedophile Jeffrey Epstein from prison. In one email sent by the disgraced financier to Paul Tweed, his UK-based lawyer, in April 2011, Epstein claims that the then Duchess was so desperate to cosy up to him that "she was the first to celebrate" his release from jail "with her two daughters in tow".
At the time, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie would have been 20 and 19, respectively, the same ages as many of Epstein's victims. The emails are part of a large tranche of documents currently being reviewed by the US Congress. They show the state of the relationship between the two, with claims that Epstein regularly supported Prince Andrew's ex-wife financially.

In one email, "Fergie" begged to borrow $50,000 to $100,000 to help with "small bills," whilst in another, she asked for £15,000 to pay a former employee, it is reported.
The email allegedly shows Epstein expressing his anger to Tweed that Ferguson had given a newspaper interview apologising for the "terrible, terrible error of judgment" in accepting the £15,000.
Epstein demanded that Fergie write him a public letter of apology over the interview and threatened to sue her if she did not, it is claimed.
According to the email obtained by the Mail on Sunday, he wrote that she "should affirmatively state that she was misquoted".
He added: "(Ms Ferguson) took apartments in New York. She was the first to celebrate my release with her two daughters in tow.
"She visited me with (a) policeman sitting at my front desk. She has asked for help with her charities."
Ms Ferguson is understood to have denied the claim that she visited Epstein with her daughters.
However, the emails do show the former Duchess addressing her comments about Epstein in the newspaper interview, in which she backtracked on previous statements, according to reports.
She wrote: "Dear Jeffrey, I wanted you to know with certainty that many things said in the press about you that were attributed to me were either a totally malicious fabrication or an outrageous exaggeration...
"There was never a claim of paedophilia... You have been a loyal friend of my family for many years," it is reported.
Last month, Sarah was dropped by numerous charities when it emerged that she wrote to convicted sex offender Epstein, calling him a "supreme friend" despite publicly disowning him in the media.
It comes after Sarah lost her courtesy royal divorcee title, Sarah, Duchess of York, following her ex-husband's decision to give up his Duke of York title.
The Daily Express has contacted representatives of Ms Ferguson for comment.
