Weather maps have shown the exact date the UK is set for snow later this month. WXCharts suggests that, on October 22, wintry precipitation will arrive in the north of Scotland, including most of the country above Glasgow and Edinburgh including Inverness. Aberdeen in the eastern coast will not see snow, according to maps, as well as Wick at the very top. Parts of the western coast will also seemingly avoid the snow.
It comes after earlier this month, when weather expert Jim Dale told the Express that November is far more likely to bring snow to England than October, and later in November at that. But he added: "Still, it only takes one solid Arctic blast, so all to play for." Scotland, meanwhile, had already seen snow on the higher peaks, Mr Dale said. "I'd expect a covering across the higher Highlands before October is out," the specialist added.
"[It's] not that unusual."
The Met Office says in its forecast for the UK as a whole for October 17 to 26: "High pressure is expected to dominate the UK weather at the start of this period.
"Whilst a little rain and drizzle is likely in parts of the southeast and north, mainly over the higher ground, much of the UK will be predominantly dry.
"Cloud amounts will be variable but often large, although there will be some spells of sunshine."
"There are likely to be some fog patches overnight, slowly clearing through the morning."
Experts add: "Temperatures are likely to be close to normal for the time of year overall.

"During the second half of this period, there are signs that the general pattern will shift with low pressure systems probably moving in from the west in some fashion.
"However, details of any more unsettled weather are still very uncertain."
Between October 27 and November 10, Brits will likely see "changeable conditions", with low pressure systems tending to dominate.
The Met Office adds: "Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy in places, with some strong winds also possible at times.
"However, there will also likely be some temporary drier interludes at times. Temperatures will probably be close to normal overall."
