Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's ‘Sardaar Ji’ was among the most awaited releases of 2025. There was a time when the initial reports of Pakistani artist Hania Aamir onboarding the movie added to the anticipation. However, after the Pahalgam attack and India’s stand on boycotting Pakistani artists and content, Hania being a part of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ has brought heavy criticism to the movie and Diljit Dosanjh. Amid this backlash over Hania Aamir’s casting, the makers of Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ have issued a statement.

Official statement by ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ makers amid the Hania Aamir row

In their statement, the makers addressed the controversy and clarified that the movie was shot before the Pahalgam attack and before the growing tensions between India and Pakistan. They stand in solidarity with India; thus, they are not releasing the movie in the country and are only reaching the overseas screens.

“This is to bring to everyone’s kind notice that the film named, Sardaarji 3, was shot well before the prevailing situation that our country is facing now and it was never ever the case that any Pakistani artist was signed or was engaged after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam," they mentioned in their statement.

“We stand united with our country and our fellow countrymen during this sensitive time. Considering the same, we had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune," concluded the makers.
