The San Antonio Spurs player De'Aaron Fox and Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry were both supposed to be on the 2025 Curry Brand World Tour, which Curry Brand announced on July 8. The tour will start in August. Along the route, the team will stop at Chongqing, China, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and San Francisco. However, De'Aaron Fox said on Friday that Steph Curry will be travelling alone.
He took to X and said:
"Unfortunately, I won't be able to travel to Asia next month," the point guard said in a video posted to X, formerly Twitter. "This was a tough decision for me. I was really looking forward to traveling to ... meet all of you and show off the Curry 2s and experience the incredible basketball culture in Asia."
Beyond the video, Under Armour , Curry Brand, and the S.A. Spurs have not released an official comment, and the player did not give a reason for his cancellation. He further said:
"I'm truly sorry.. Your love for the game and unmatched enthusiasm set you apart from any other fanbase in the world."
The tour was partially based on Victor Wembanyama's international presentation from the year before, but the S.A. Spurs player’s distinct style and G.S. Warriors player’s superstar gravitas were anticipated to steal the show during stops in the US and Asia.
