NEW DELHI: In a dialogue connecting science and spirituality, spiritual leader Sadhguru engaged with Nasa astronaut Commander Sunita Williams and Nasa space scientist Dr. Kavya Manyapu at the “Consciousness, Science, Spirituality and Global Impact 2025” conference, hosted by the Sadhguru Centre for Conscious Planet (SCCP) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center , a Harvard teaching hospital.
The session, titled “Conscious Space Exploration,” explored how humanity’s search for the cosmos reflects its inner quest for understanding. The two-day conference, held on October 11–12, brought together scientists, thinkers, and spiritual leaders to examine the role of consciousness in shaping the planet’s future.
After the event, Sadhguru wrote on X, “‘Exploration’ implies a journey into unknown terrain — inward or outward. The difference between the two is: You turn inward for pure knowing. You turn outward for impact, for use or utility. Both are about the human longing to Know.”
He described Williams and Manyapu as representing “the tremendous potential of human capability and determination.”
During the discussion, Sadhguru cautioned that growing technological power must be matched by inclusiveness. “As you get more and more empowered, you must become more and more inclusive. Otherwise, you're a disaster for yourself and for everybody,” he said, warning that humanity must avoid carrying earthly divisions into space.
“When we leave this planet, we must leave our differences behind... Space exploration must be driven by a pure human longing to know,” he said.
Sharing her perspective, Williams noted, “When you look at Earth from that perspective, you don’t see borders... It makes you realise we are all in this together.” She described the focus and awareness space life demands, adding that “coming back to Earth was one of the hardest adjustments.”
The conference also featured speakers including Swami Sarvapriyananda, Jude Currivan, Dr. Dean Radin, and Prof. Vikram Patel.
