US President Donald Trump lashed out at The Wall Street Journal , accusing its editorial board of persistently taking a negative stance against him, and offering his theory as to why.
On Thursday, Trump, in his Truth Social account, asserted that the publication favours China's success above American interests.
Trump said: "The reason that The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board is always negative on 'TRUMP,' and the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars we're bringing into our Country through Tariffs, numbers that the U.S.A. has never seen before, is because they are China centric or, at a minimum, Globalists, and they would rather see China and the World, for reasons unknown, 'WIN, BABY, WIN.'"
He further argued that without tariffs, the US would be economically vulnerable, adding that only "Crooked, Radical Left Judges" could harm the country.
The publication has consistently opposed Trump's trade policies since the beginning of his second term. Recently, it published a report about an inappropriate birthday card allegedly sent to Jeffrey Epstein, which angered Trump.
Trump has contested the card's legitimacy and is pursuing legal action against the conservative newspaper.
Following the story's publication, Trump announced: "The Wall Street Journal, and Rupert Murdoch, personally, were warned directly by President Donald J. Trump that the supposed letter they printed by President Trump to Epstein was a FAKE and, if they print it, they will be sued."
He continued by declaring his intention to take legal action against the publication and its parent company, citing previous victories against other media outlets.
He described the journal as a "Disgusting and Filthy Rag" that publishes defamatory content to maintain relevance.
